Godly Communication

Dear BPCWA worshipper, Perhaps to some of you, the title already makes you decide to skip reading this pastoral. Do we have the attitude that because we have already heard a message or just prayed in church, we don’t need to talk about spiritual things after that? Or that insisting on godly communication is just too strict? Or do you find it uninteresting or boring because such conversations prevent you from talking about yourself and what you like to talk about? Church Study Series: Finding God’s Will 2

Dear BPCWA worshipper, After having understood the importance of knowing God’s will, we must know how God reveals His will to us. From what He has revealed in His Word, theologians have attempted to help us understand God’s will in 7 ways. Predominant among these is His preceptive will, which are the clear instructions, commands, and rules found in the Bible. Church Study Series: Finding God’s Will 1

Dear BPCWA worshipper, For this year’s Church Study Series, I chose the topic of “Finding God’s Will”. While this series is available on our church’s YouTube channel at www.bpcwa.org.au/youtube, I will briefly summarise in this and next week’s pastoral what was covered during the 3-part series since all worshippers should understand God’s will so that we can do it in all aspects of our daily lives. Given how crucial it is for us to be able to discern God’s will, I hope that this will spur our readers to view the full videos online or listen to the audio versions on our websites.

After nearly 30 years in public life, serving as the WA Leader of his political party for more than 11 years and Premier of WA for more than 6 years, it was a shock announcement. It is not my intent to comment on politics, but there are lessons from this incident that Christians should take note of.  None are spared. Possibly the most popular Premier in WA ever, he was described by the Prime Minister as “a great Premier of his proud state” who “always held to his convictions and always sought to do the right thing by his state”. Being at
