Are you a citizen, tourist, or stranger in this world?

Dear BPCWA worshipper, Tomorrow is Australia Day, a day that many councils hold events to welcome new citizens pledging their commitment to become Australian citizens. While there are many reasons why one may be in a country, I want us to consider 3 typical descriptions of why we are here, not just here in Australia, but in the world. I am not saying that citizenship in a land is sinful or that being a tourist is evil.  But it would certainly do us good to consider our attitude towards this world in different capacities. Citizens. Your Quiet Time: A Blessing, a Duty, or a Chore?

Dear BPCWA worshipper, Last week, we looked at how we will spend our time in 2026. Today, I want to look at something which must be essential in every Christian’s life, what is commonly known as our quiet time (QT) or our time of devotion. How is your quiet time? How will you spend your time in 2026?

The months that we spent planning for Christmas Service, Watchnight Service, and the Holiday Bible Program have passed. As we have our first Session Meeting in 2026 today, the church will begin planning for another round of programs, God willing. Some for whom their time ended in 2025. As I look back on my pastoral a year ago, I recounted the tragedies that 2024 ended with. A year later, as 2025 ended, tragic losses of life again hit the headlines. First, there was the

Just Another Holiday Bible Program?

Dear BPCWA worshipper, Tomorrow will be the start of another Holiday Bible Program (HBP). The aim of this pastoral is to help all – parents, grandparents, married, elderlies and singles alike, understand why we have this annual program and how to support and pray for it. How it started. The idea for a vacation Bible school was mooted in 2015. The first Holiday Bible Program was conducted in July, after the family camp, for children aged 3 to 12. Over time, the age band was shifted upward. Today, our enrolments span children from Pre-Primary to Year 10, distributed over 3 classes. It now functions as a standalone event separate from the Sunday School ministry. Based on feedback from parents, the
