Dear BPCWA worshipper, This week, though on Australian soil, many will be wishing their families here and across the miles “Happy Lunar New Year”. In China, daily life almost grinds to a standstill on this occasion of celebrations. A major traditional event for the Chinese, the Lunar New Year begins on the 1st of February, 2022 this year. Culturally, many will keep the night on the eve of this day to have dinner with their families, in a meal affectionately called the “Reunion Dinner”. This is a practice that many adults continue to keep in their homes even if they are living far away from where they grew up. Many others would even hazard long journeys do so. Eating together

As a result, if you have noticed, our church calendar now reflects Evangelism Weekends in its stead. Someone recently asked me how will things be this year at Australia Day as well. As such, I thought it was important that we update our worshippers on the approach regarding evangelism moving forward. I am thankful that after the Church Study Series on “Chosen to Witness”, many of our worshippers see personal witnessing as their Christian duty and have seized every opportunity to witness to those around them. I hope that having

Truly, nothing would have been possible without God’s enabling, and His help in raising many who served Him faithfully and diligently behind the scenes. The Holiday Bible Program is one key highlight each year in the church that worshippers should be aware of. The theme for the program. As worshippers would have seen the banner in our church, the theme was “The Pride of Life”, taken from Jeremiah 9:23-24 “Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: 24 But let
Read moreDear BPCWA worshipper, A New Year has dawned, and I truly thank God that we had an opportunity to close off the year in God’s House with a Watchnight Service and the Lord’s Supper. In these days and times, we cannot take coming to church for granted and it is something that we should give thanks for each time. We ended off the year with a sermon on “Wise or Foolish?”, taken from Eph 5:14-17 “Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding
Read moreDear BPCWA worshipper, Today is the first Sunday of the new year. As announced, our church theme for this year is “Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.” (Matt 25:13). Why was this theme chosen? How should we respond? The Son of man will come again. The theme was chosen because God tells us in Matthew 25:15 that Christ will indeed come again. It is not a fable invented by man. It is not something that is uncertain. We just celebrated Christmas. The prophecies of the Messiah’s first coming were fulfilled with extreme accuracy. Some have calculated that for just a few of the prophecies regarding Christ’s birth and life
